The Ambition Behind the Nutrition
As a B Corporation and a radically transparent company, we aren’t quiet about our environmental and social responsibility. We work hard and take bold action to create a world where everyone is truly nourished. Here are some of the ways we’re doing that.
Committing to regenerative agriculture
Soil quality is depleting at an alarming rate, which is diminishing the nutrient levels of the food grown in it. And as a result, most people aren’t getting the nutrients they need from food alone 1. Regenerative agriculture can solve this soil crisis, help with climate change, replenish water cycles, restore soil fertility, and increase nutrient density. So we are leading the movement to make regenerative agriculture a reality.
Lobbying to ban glyphosate
Glyphosate is a chemical in Monsanto’s signature herbicide, Roundup, typically used in GMO crop product systems. It works by inhibiting an enzyme found in plant life that is needed to survive. However, it may kill the microbes in the soil that are essential to growing healthy food. And instead of curbing this dangerous practice, the EPA is allowing Big Ag companies to spray 300 times more glyphosate on oats and other grains than was legal in 1993—THREE HUNDRED TIMES THE OLD LIMIT. So we’re taking a stand by lobbying to ban glyphosate use and ensuring our products are certified Glyphosate Residue Free. By doing this, we can help get our soil, our plants, and ourselves back where we all should be. Join us on our mission and sign our petition.
Setting an agricultural standard
We are launching a new farm partner sourcing program that will focus on three key areas: rebuilding the soil, conserving resources, and supporting thriving livelihoods. This new standard will allow us to work together with our farm partners on shared goals to improve soil health and build local thriving communities. Learn more about our Healthy Farm Standard.
Supplier code of conduct
By developing a Code of Conduct for all our suppliers, we’re ensuring that all our suppliers operate with integrity, with ethical conduct, and with respect for the rights of all individuals and the environment. View our Code of Conduct, View our Supplier Manual or explore our sourcing standard to learn more.
Fair employment practices
With the goal to enable a thriving workforce, we make sure all our employees are treated fairly paid above living wage.
And with all of that in mind, here is our manifesto:
- We exist to help grow a healthier world.
- We don’t want to just sustain. We need to regenerate.
- We are ambassadors of honesty and transparency.
- We hold ourselves and other businesses accountable for doing good in the world. Always.
- Soil is our common ground.
- A living wage is the only wage.
- We act with fearless engagement.
- We want to empower people.
